The challenge of planning this project was, first and foremost, accommodating for the needs of a family of six and the full-time caretaker of their disabled child, while being constrained by the severe limitations forced by the local authorities. The goal was to create a warm, inviting central space for the entire family, and at the same time, provide each family member a private corner, privacy for the caretaker, a private corner and proper wheelchair accessibility.

The special style the family requested was yet another challenge: the design elements, such as the steep angle of the roofs, the roof windows, the pointed arch windows, and the octagonal gazebo, all added to the complexity of our task, affected the atmosphere of the resulting spaces, and contributed to everyone’s satisfaction when the result met the clients’ requirements and expectations.

The method employed in this house’s construction will have to be special as well, seeing as conventional construction simply does not suit a house such as this one. The construction will combine a conventional concrete frame, the most economic choice under the conditions in Israel, with walls and roofing made using advanced construction methods, and utilizing environmentally friendly materials that fit in well with the style of the house.
